Nachtwacht LUNA - alert
In case of alert, Nachtwacht LUNA will give you messages by means of texts on the display and spoken instructions.
Bradycardia - pulse below 40 bpm
1-the display shows
BRADYCARDIA
a "beep" sounds to alert or wake up the patient.
2- if after 15 seconds the heart rate is still below 40 bpm, a general alert will be given.
Tachycardia - pulse over 160 bpm
In this case a general alert will be given:
Please check patient.
If the patient is not responding – call emergency services – call 112
Press flashing - green - button when emergency services have been called.
Cardiac arrest - pulse below 5 bpm
Also in this case a general alert will be given.
Start resuscitation - get an AED
When 112 is called and the green button is pressed, the subsequent part of the instruction is triggered. In case an AED (automatic electronic defibrilator) is available in the vicinity of the patient this can be used now.
Get the AED and follow the instructions.
If you do not have an AED, press - green - flashing - button, to begin CPR
No AED - manual CPR / Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation
In some cases it may be neccessary to start manual CPR. Nachtwacht LUNA will give the following instruction after pressing the green button, in case no AED is nearby.
Sit next to patient, place your first hand on patients chest between the nipples.
Place your second hand on your first hand. Press firmly one third of patients chest.
Push (30 times)
Open the airways and give two breaths
Breath (2 times
This instruction will be given in the recommended pace, according to the guidelines of the Brtitish Heart Federantion and the Resuscitation Council (UK).
During or after every alert the device can be reset by pushing the black reset button on top of the base station, left next to the screen.
